Kort efter hans død blev motivet mangfoldiggjort gennem et kobberstik af I.S. Müller udgivet af I. Boydell i London. At det netop var et londonsk trykkeri, der stod for trykningen af det populære motiv er ikke tilfældigt, for det var især den engelske overklasse, der købte Panninis malerier med Roms bygningskultur. Engelske grand-tour turister ville gerne have en ”souvenir” med hjem fra deres dannelsesrejse, og et maleri med antikkens Pantheon, Colosseum, Constantinbuen eller et vue af hele Forum Romanum var i høj kurs. En lille forskydning gør, at vi ser det indre af Pantheon i en let skrå vinkel.
